Old Saint Nick’s Chocolate Espresso Martini. A festive martini to celebrate both Christmas and the New Year. Shake up classic espresso martini ingredients of vodka, Kahlรบa, and a shot of espresso with a shot of both chocolate and dark chocolate liquor. Each martini is perfectly chocolatey, a touch creamy, and hinted with vanilla. The addition of chocolate and vanilla makes a classic espresso martini that’s just that much more delicious. A wonderful holiday treat to cap off the night. It’s that chocolate on top that really makes this special!
Merry Christmas Eve!! I don’t usually share a Christmas Eve post, but with the holiday falling on a Saturday this season, this felt like the right cocktail (or mocktail), to share with you all.
A sweet, chocolate martini fitting for capping the long night off. I do think Old Saint Nick and even the Griswolds would fully approve of this nightcap.
Details
This could not be more straightforward, quick, and simple. Shake the vodka, Kahlรบa, a shot of espresso, a shot of chocolate liquor, a shot of dark chocolate liquor, and a small drop of vanilla up in a cocktail shaker. Make sure to add ice to get a nice chilled martini.
Once shaken, add hot fudge sauce to each martini glass rim, then pour over the martini.
The end result is a sweet martini with just the right amount of espresso, chocolate, hints of vanilla, and a little creaminess too. Oh so GOOD!
The key to a good espresso martini is all in that frothy top. I know it might seem like a hard thing to achieve, but itโs actually very easy. You just need to really shake the drink together with ice for a good minute to create the froth. The harder you shake, the more froth youโll get.
Alright, that’s all from us for the next couple of days. Have a wonderful Christmas!! Enjoy this special, cozy time, and soak up every minute!

Liquor or chocolate liqueur? These bottles can be pricy and I donโt want to purchase the wrong item. Maybe a spell check is needed?
Hi Tieghan!! This recipe looks amazing! I want to make it for an upcoming party. Can I make a bottle of it ahead of time and just put it together quickly as guests arrive? Anything I should omit until ready?
Best,
Ashley
Hi Ashley,
Sure, I don’t see why that wouldn’t work well for you! Please let me know if you have any other questions! Cheers! xx
This is so delicious and the perfect after dinner cocktail! I could only find Godiva white chocolate liqueur, doesn’t really matter IMO.

Love your recipes so much thank you. Regarding the fudge sauce – in the video you show making it with chocolate chips and I believe condensed milk? Did you not use that?

Love your cocktail creativity. Your spicy grapefruit margarita is a staple in my drink rotation since 2015ish.
Chocolate liqueur or liquor? Godiva is a liqueur. Iโm sure thereโs chocolate vodka – that would be chocolate liquor. Liqueur is usually lower proof and tastes way better than straight liquor.
Hey Thonas,
Thanks for trying so many recipes!! I used the Godiva chocolate liqueur for this martini. Let me know if you give it a try, I hope you love it! Cheers and happy holidays! xT
Which chocolate and dark chocolate liquors do you prefer to use in this recipe?
There are Godiva brand bottles in the pictures but Iโd stop in your local liquor store and see what they have.
