Deck the halls and get into the holiday spirit with this with the WhoVille Christmas Punch. Warm bourbon mixed with Campari, pomegranate juice, fresh orange juice, and vanilla bean. Top this easy Christmas punch with ginger beer for a delicious, spicy, bubbly kick. With bourbon and wintery citrus flavors, this punch will be the hit of your next holiday party! โTis the season!
I couldnโt go through the month of December without a holiday party punch! This is the cocktail recipe to make if you want to keep your party simple but still want a festival cocktail/mocktail to celebrate the season.
All will adore this punch! And I myself am excited to mix this up for my familyโs Christmas Eve dinner. I know itโs a punch theyโll love!
The details
Step 1: mix up the punch base
This is a bourbon punch. Itโs perfect for the cozy season. I paired the bourbon with wintery citrus and Italian Campari liquor.
In a nice big punch bowl, mix your favorite bourbon with Campari. Add sweet pomegranate juice, orange juice, and then a splash of vanilla (the secret to a wintery bourbon cocktail).
Add fresh rosemary and then chill the punch until youโre ready to serve. This is a great punch to make ahead! If you want to add even more flavor, add a few cinnamon sticks and fresh ginger slices.
Step 2: add the bubbles
Instead of overly sweet champagne, weโre using spicy ginger beer. It really compliments the warmth of this Christmas punch. Plus, I love ginger beer! I think itโs a great addition to most cocktail recipes.
Mix the ginger beer in after you add ice to the punch bowl. Then mix in fresh orange slices, dried orange slices, and pomegranate arils. It ends up being so pretty!
Make It A Mocktail!
To turn this punch into an alcohol-free punch, just omit the bourbon and the Campari from the recipe.
Replace the bourbon with apple cider and the Campari with additional orange juice. Mix in apple cider vinegar and, if desired, a teaspoon or two of extra vanilla extract.
So yumm! I honestly love both the cocktail and mocktail variations equally. Delicious!!
Both variations will be wonderful for any and all of your upcoming parties. But itโs also great to enjoy with a small group of family or friends. I love that itโs not loaded with added sugars like most punch recipes. The mix of pomegranate juice and ginger beer (you could also use sparkling water) keeps the punch perfectly sweet. To me, thereโs nothing worse than a drink that gives you a โsugar rushโ hangover.
Hoping you all love this holiday punch as much as I do!! Excited for you all to make it soon!!

I did this quartered to serve 4, which was about 2 oz bourbon each. Subbed vanilla extract for some homemade grenadine, and split one Fever Tree ginger beer (6.76 oz/200 ml) between the four drinks. Just did rosemary as garnish. It was good!
Hi! Thank you so so much for trying out the recipe! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! xT
This was delicious. Exactly what I was looking for. I added a little extra fresh orange juice for some extra acidity. I think a lot of the negative comments stem from the Campari, so if you are sensitive to bitter I would scale back the Campari or sub Aperol like T said. Thank you for the festive cocktail recipes. Love coming to your page around the holidays! xo
Hi Merideth! Thank you so so much for trying out the recipe! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! xT
If we need to just make this in a whole punch bowl to take to work and canโt really pour the ginger beer individually, do we just combine everything together? Or do the ginger beer ratios change?
Hi there! Yes you can just combine everything in a punch bowl! xT
What can I use in place of Campari? I find it very bitter (I made Mistletoe Punch last night which has Campari, as well)
Hi Kathy! Maybe some Aperol would work well? xT
If youโre making a mocktail, then please donโt put vanilla extract in, as itโs alcohol.
I just spent $60 on ingredients for this drinkโฆ which frankly, is undrinkable, even after the edit from 6 to 4 cups of Bourbon. Really disappointed. Am I missing something here?
Way out of balance โ the mixers are too overpowering, at least in these ratios. Also, vanilla extract in a drink is honestly just weird.
Thank you for this! Iโve been searching for an easy punch to make. Iโm pregnant this year so mocktail it is! Canโt wait to make it on Christmas Eve. Happy Holidays!
Thank you so much Michelle! Congrats on your pregnancy! ๐ xT
Are you seriously putting BLANTONโS in a punch?
I totally agree with you Jeff!!
6 cups of bourbon for 8 servings? Iโm sorry?
There is something wrong in the recipe. 1 cup of bourbon is 237 ml. The recipe requires 6 cups which is equal to 2 bottles of bourbon, for โฆ8 servings. So you suggest that each serving should have around 180 ml of bourbon ๐ฌ? ? For reference, one regular serving of alcoholic drink is 45-60 ml.
Before I waste 2 bottles of expensive bourbon can you please clarify if the servings are wrong or the amount of cups?
Bumping this comment because I have the same question. I like the sound of the flavor combination but worry the proportions are off? Hopefully can make this for a party I have soon, but donโt want to waste so much bourbon if itโs off! (and I want people to remember the nightโฆ.)
I did some experimenting as I need the punch for this Friday. Itโs definitely for more than 15 servings. With Tieghans quantities itโs around 300 ml of drink per serving for 8 of them, which is obviously not a normal serving.
As for taste, itโs incredibly heavy, undrinkable almost. If you Google it youโll find many recipes with similar ingredients and more regular analogies.
Lately her recipes tend to be more and more off.
2 cups of Bourbon is most of a 5th. Can you please confirm 6 cups of bourbon is whatโs necessary here?
I am confused about the mocktail version. Do you still include the pomegranate juice and gingerbeer?
Hi Anne! Yes, you still include everything except the alcohol! xT
Maybe a dumb question but is this 12 oz total of ginger beer or 12 oz bottles?
Iโm sure itโs 2-3 12oz bottles
7 cups of liquor for 8 servings? Forget the Christmas tree, weโre the ones getting lit this year!
Hahaha omg!! Merry Christmas! xT
I have a cookie exchange party coming up and Iโm definitely going to try this. I came here to comment my jealousy that you can get Blantons. I used to be able to buy it and now itโs so popular that I never see a bottle and they laugh if you ask if some will be coming in soon or if you can reserve a bottle. Enjoy!
How fun! Hope you have such a fun cookie exchange party! ๐ xT
