The coziest Bad Santa White Russianโฆfor all the festive nights ahead. Homemade cinnamon vanilla simple syrup, mixed with vodka and Kahlรบa, plus my seasonal twist… A shot of espresso and a sweet chocolate ribbon – adding just the right amount espresso kick and holiday sweetness. The perfect holiday twist on the classic White Russian cocktail, such a delicious December treat!
If Christmas had a cocktail it would be this White Russian. It’s got a touch of sweetness, just the right amount of creaminess, and, of course, a good kick to it too.
This one didn’t come to me on my own however. It’s actually a drink made with Red’s girlfriend, Hailey, in mind. She sent me a photo of a drink she’d order in Mexico a few months ago.
It looked and sounded like a White Russian, but with twist. I said I’d save it for December and here we are! I wasn’t able to recreate the exact drink, so instead, I made something I knew that Hail’s would love.
The steps are easy…and simple!
To make the sweet cinnamon syrup just mix together your classic White Russian ingredients. Then add an extra shot of espresso and some cream.
A little chocolate around the rim gives this drink that specialness that’s most fitting for the holiday season. I have family members who are very excited to try this in just about ten days! A good White Russian is one of their favorites to enjoy each year!
Lucky for Hail’s, she currently here. So I made mixed her up one last night and she’d gave it her full seal of approval. with the line, I think it’s my new favorite…which is really saying something because she loved the chai martini too.

Happy Holidays!!โ๏ธ I appreciate you making this recipe and sharing your feedback, so glad to hear it was enjoyed! xT
Merry Christmas! This drink is Christmas in a cocktail! Once the syrup is made, itโs super simple to mix one up while wrapping presents or watching a Christmas movie. I added some extra vanilla to the syrup, and it was delicious! Thank you for another amazing Christmas cocktail recipe!
Hey Cameron,
Happy Monday!โ๏ธ I am so glad to hear that this recipe was enjoyed, thanks a lot for making it! xx
Can you please list the amount and each ingredient in a comment about the cinnamon syrup versus just telling me to see step 1.
I understand that the syrup in step 1 is for 6 drinks, however amounts of honey, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla are not listed in step 1.
If you change the number of drinks to 10 at the top which I need, the amount for each ingredient for the syrup changes and it says to use 20 cinnamon sticks, 2.5 cups honey, and 10 tsp of vanilla. Is this correct? Also, do I still use only 1/2 cup of water like it says for 6 drinks or do I increase this amount??
Hi Jennifer,
The syrup will make 6 drinks–the ingredients call for 1/4 cup of honey, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup of water. All of this is listed in the ingredient list:)
The measurements for the syrup for 10 drinks is not going to be accurate since the syrup makes 6 drinks. The calculator really just can’t account for all of this, it’s very basic and standard.
For 10 drinks, I would just double the syrup recipe…so 1/2 cup of honey, 4 cinnamon sticks, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of water. That will make enough syrup for 12 drinks.
I hope this helps! xT
The actual instructions on making the simple syrup are missing.
Hi Ann,
